Overview
Introduction to Entrepreneurship aims to develop your appreciation and understanding of the role of the entrepreneur in creating value through innovation for a business and society. This subject covers the foundations of entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial growth, especially in the Asia Pacific. The subject also emphasises the practice of sustainable, ethical and socially responsible entrepreneurial business. It provides you with opportunities to deal with realities confronting entrepreneurial decision making in a contemporary context and provides an opportunity for you to harness the creative potential of complex dynamics in a systemic approach that creates, grows and amplifies value throughout the system. You will be involved in evaluating a business plan for a new venture. This will enable them to learn about the necessary components for successful generation of new projects and develop skills in the critical appraisal of business plans.

- Present diverse perspectives on the social, ethical, and sustainability of a new entrepreneurial venture
- Identify a business venture opportunity and prepare a feasibility report for an initial launch

- Effectively communicate entrepreneurial knowledge in written communication
Assessment
AIIHE uses a variety of assessment tools to guide and assess each student’s achievement of their learning outcomes. In this subject there will be in–class activities intended to support you to engage in and reflect on your learning journey and understanding of the subject. You will also undertake assessment tasks related to your skills development, your effective engagement in group work and delivery of collaborative outcomes, including a written report and an oral presentation.
Summary of Assessment
- Students must attempt all assessment tasks, and at least a mark of 50% in total, to pass this subject.
- Assessment in this subject is consistent with and informed by the AIIHE Assessment Policy and Procedure.
