Overview
Experiential Marketing in Hospitality and Tourism offers you the opportunity to explore the theoretical knowledge and practical skills required to design, deliver, and manage unique and memorable hospitality and tourism experiences in a competitive global market. Upon completion, students will gain insights into the fundamental drivers of hospitality and tourism experiences, focusing on customer perspectives and the co-creation of these experiences. The course will enable the analysis of real-world case studies, allowing students to apply theoretical frameworks to address operational challenges, enhance customer satisfaction, and improve financial performance for organisations. The course aims to ensure the sustainable growth and development of hospitality and tourism experiences.

- Demonstrate an understanding of conceptualisation and key drivers of hospitality and tourism experiences, linking theoretical insights with practical applications in real-world scenarios.
- Assess the customer experience journey within hospitality and tourism, identifying critical touchpoints and pain points that can enhance service delivery and guest satisfaction
- Design effective tourism experiences by applying the experience design process, integrating consumer insights and innovative strategies to create memorable offerings
- Manage service failures and implement effective recovery strategies, ensuring guest loyalty and satisfaction even in challenging situations
- Critically evaluate sustainable tourism practices in tourism experience design, balancing visitor expectations with environmental and social responsibility
Assessment
AIIHE uses a variety of assessment tools to guide and assess each student’s achievement of their learning outcomes. In this subject there will be in–class activities intended to support you to engage in and reflect on your learning journey and understanding of the subject. You will also undertake assessment tasks related to your skills development, your effective engagement in group work and delivery of collaborative outcomes, including a written report and an oral presentation.
Summary of Assessment
- Students must attempt all assessment tasks, and at least a mark of 50% in total, to pass this subject.
- Assessment in this subject is consistent with and informed by the AIIHE Assessment Policy and Procedure.
