Overview
Corporate Governance and Social Responsibility further you’re understanding and ability to apply theories and concepts of knowledge in the areas of ethics and social responsibility. You develop and advance their understanding of the fundamental links in today’s business environment between the concepts of corporate governance, ethics, and social responsibility. You must critically analyse ethical issues that arise in the business environment, attend to requirements for transparency in corporate governance, and assess the impact of policy formulation and implementation on stakeholders’ interests and rights.

Learning Outcomes
- Demonstrate a deep understanding of different Ethical, Corporate Governance and Social Responsibility frameworks used in business
- Critically reflect on the impact of ethical values on decision making and Corporate Governance and Social Responsibility behaviour in an organisation
- Demonstrate awareness and sensitivity to the importance of culture and intercultural communication in the ethics of decision-making and Corporate Governance and Social Responsibility behaviour
- Present critical accounts for the application of ethical theory to issues related to Corporate Governance and Social Responsibility in contemporary business contexts
Assessment
AIIHE uses a variety of assessment tools to guide and assess each student’s achievement of their learning outcomes. In this subject there will be in–class activities intended to support you to engage in and reflect on your learning journey and understanding of the subject. You will also undertake assessment tasks related to your skills development, your effective engagement in group work and delivery of collaborative outcomes, including a written report and an oral presentation.
Summary of Assessment
- Students must attempt all assessment tasks, and at least a mark of 50% in total, to pass this subject.
- Assessment in this subject is consistent with and informed by the AIIHE Assessment Policy and Procedure.
