Business Communication (BUS101) will enable you to develop an understanding of the role of communication in business and professional environments and to identify the most effective methods for creating, sending, and receiving messages.   

Studying this subject provides you with the basic principles of effective communication skills and practices relevant to verbal and non-verbal modes of communication designed for a variety of audiences in business contexts. It includes an introduction to working and communicating in teams.  You will be introduced to library research and critical thinking skills, as well as introducing you to the appreciation of ethical practice through analysing complex information. It also provides you with a balanced approach focusing on communication theories as well as their practical implications.

AIIHE uses a variety of assessment tools to guide and assess each student’s achievement of their learning outcomes. In this subject there will be in–class activities intended to support you to engage in and reflect on your learning journey and understanding of the subject. You will also undertake assessment tasks related to your skills development, your effective engagement in group work and delivery of collaborative outcomes, including a written report and an oral presentation.
