The Australian International Institute of Higher Education (AIIHE) Graduate Diploma of Information Technology is embedded in the Master of Information Technology and has been designed as an optional exit award only at AQF level 8. It equips students with the skills needed for paraprofessional of executive and management roles in ICT sector with proficient IT knowledge and skills and further study at the postgraduate level.

Subjects focus on core information technology and systems including introduction to information technology, programming, systems analysis and design, database management systems, professional practice in ethics and emerging technology.

The course structure is underpinned by the core subjects as outlined above, enhanced by the specialised cybersecurity and data science subjects including cyber security systems, digital transformation and data analytics. All subjects, as such, reflect the AIIHE’s Graduate Attributes.

AIIIHE aims to prepare work-ready professionals. It is expected that graduates could start a career in Information Technology in positions such as:

The structure of the Graduate Diploma of Information Technology course is informed by the professional recognition requirements of the Australian Computing Society (ACS), the Skills for the Information Age (SFIA) framework and the need for Information Technology graduates to have a broad-based education in the fundamental areas of information technology skills and knowledge. The course provides an information technology-based mandatory core subjects in year 1.
